'98: More or less two thirds of the country had gone under
water. In Aminbazar, not far from Dhaka, the young boy and
his trained monkey were travelling from his home on foot through
the floodwaters and towards the city, in search of work. Aminbazar,

work of most Bangladeshi photographers have a monotonous sameness
about it, as if they're all following just one set of grammatical
rules. A reason for this could be because most are not in
touch with contemporary trends in photography. Pathshala was
created from this sense of need - it is something totally
different, new. Students here have had the chance to see work
of internationally renowned photographers, and also to show
their work - which is rare even for photographers of the 'developed'
