Vision for Drik

We believe that all people are equal and that everyone has the right to strive to achieve their full development of talents and potential. Thus, we will not accept exploitation of people, fight for our freedom of speech, and oppose the use of violence against people and nature. Education is of prime importance for Drik.

We commit to conduct a sound commercial business in Bangladesh without exploiting people, using the best available techniques while burdening the earth resources only minimally.

To use images actively to achieve our goals of supporting political and economic freedom in an ecologically sound manner. Profits to be reinvested to educate staff and  those who are socially oppressed.

• We will support dialogue and oppose violence as a political strategy.

• We will spread our ideas through images, written and spoken word.

• We will not accept assignments that go against our beliefs on political, social and ecological ideals.

• We will create a respectful work environment where we will support every colleague in his or her personal development.

• We will oppose corruption and fight for transparency.

Artistic Policy of Drik

Drik believes in the power of culture and promotes cultural diversity with an emphasis on visual medium. Its emphasis on photography relies on the power of the medium to validate history and its ability to create a powerful emotional response, thereby influencing public opinion. Drik’s broader practice, utilizing the entire gamut of visual culture, is inclusive, but positively promotes majority world practitioners. There is a commitment to participatory production and the involvement of women, youth and marginalized communities.
