Purpose of the position

A graphic designer is responsible for creating design solutions, which have a high visual impact. The role involves listening to clients and understanding their needs before making design decisions. Their designs are required for a huge variety of products and activities, print and online, such as books, flyers, posters, exhibitions, advocacy campaign and displays, brand communications etc.

Responsibilities:

• Meeting clients or account managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job
• Interpreting the client's business needs and developing a concept to suit their purpose
• Developing design briefs by gathering information and data through research
• Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts
• Working with a wide range of media, including photography and Adobe suites, particularly InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
• Demonstrating free-hand illustration skills, both manual and digital
• Working on layouts and art working pages ready for print
• Keeping abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs
• Working as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, designers, account executives, and marketing specialists
•  Coordinating with printing houses and ensuring quality production that matches with Drik

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

• University Graduate. Preferably in fine arts
• Minimum 2-3 years experience in the related field or computer Graphics experience preferably in a MAC-based environment
• Well develop IT skills for document production
• Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office package
• Good spoken and written skills both in English and Bangla
