Lillian Rosengarten (b. 1937), her family fled Nazi Germany for New York in 1937, when she was a toddler. 



Clinical social worker and psychoanalyst, poet, writer, mother, grandmother, and progressive human rights activist, author of Survival and Conscience: From The Shadow Of Nazi Germany To The Jewish Boat To Gaza. In 2010, she joined the “Jewish Boat to Gaza,” designed to break Israel’s punishing blockade of the Strip. Though the Israeli Navy obstructed their humanitarian mission, Rosengarten never lost her hope and compassion.
