Grant Programme: Photojournalism in the margins

Bangladesh Press Photo is happy to introduce a special grant programme ‘Photojournalism in the margins’ for Bangladeshi indigenous community and Rohingya community photographers.

Potential applicants are requested to send their portfolio along with a CV to bppc@drik.net by 17 March 2023

Indigenous Community Grant:

Longstanding political instability in the Chittagong Hill Tracts is an impediment to healthy growth of photojournalism in the region. In order to encourage photojournalism among the indigenous communities in the CHT, Drik has organized a grant programme. Indigenous youth interested in visual journalism are invited to submit portfolios of not more than 10 photographs, which deal with issues that are important to their community.

This grant offers 50 thousand BD Taka to the selected photographer

Rohingya Community Grant:

In order to support the participation of marginalised groups, Drik is organising an exclusive mentorship programme for the Rohingya community which will help develop both their visual and storytelling skills. Rohingya participants are invited to submit portfolios of not more than 10 photographs, which deal with issues that are important to their community.

This grant offers online photography workshops for selected photographers.
